Hot Wax

Hot wax is designed to be used on the bikini line and underarm area.  This kind of wax is virtually pain free however this is a slightly longer treatment and is strip free unlike ordinary warm wax designed for larger areas such as leg, arm or chest.

Preparation

• These are a few suggestions to maximise the waxing process
• Previous bleached hair may break off at skin level
• Avoid rigorous exercise
• No moisturisers or oils to be used on areas to be waxed
• Hairs must be ?" long.
• Refrain from soaking in the bath and no swimming (before and after)

Homecare

• These precautions are to be followed for at least 24hrs, longer if the skin still feels sensitive
• Avoid sunbathing or having any sunbed treatments.
• Do not apply antiperspirant, deodorant or perfumed products to the area.
• Have lukewarm showers or baths.
• Avoid applying make-up or self tanning products over the area.
• Apply a soothing lotion or gel regularly to keep skin soft and minimise any redness or irritation.
• Refrain from touching the areas with your fingers and keep skin clean

Contra-indications

• These are conditions which may prevent waxing
• Within 24hrs after sunbathing or sunbed treatment.
• Allergy to the products
• Recent scar tissue (must be at least 6 months old)
• Warts and moles skin tags (this area can be avoided)
• Inflammation, swelling or pus
• Rashes, broken skin
• Very thin crepey skin
• Very sensitive skin (a patch test can be arranged 24hrs before treatment)
• Immediately before or after a sauna or steam bath.
• Bruising
• Varicose veins (legs)
• Mastitis (underarm)
• Styes, conjunctivitis (eyebrow)
• Cold sores (lip and chin)
• Diabetes (a letter is required to be taken to your doctor for signature of approval)
